Trans Day of Visibility: Celebrating Trans and Non-Binary Communities in Pennsylvania and Beyond

Dear Friend of Fairness,

Today, we celebrate Trans Day of Visibility — a moment to honor the incredible strength and resilience of trans, non-binary, and gender-diverse individuals across Pennsylvania and around the world. This day is not only about visibility but about acknowledging the importance of being seen and heard in a society where too often, trans voices are marginalized. Every person deserves to be recognized for who they are, and today we stand in solidarity with our trans, non-binary, and gender-nonconforming neighbors, friends, and family.

Trans Day of Visibility serves as a reminder of both the strides we’ve made and the challenges that still lie ahead. While we celebrate the victories, it’s crucial to reflect on the ongoing work needed to ensure equal rights and protection for trans and non-binary communities. Today is about lifting up the stories of trans individuals, celebrating their contributions, and reinforcing our shared commitment to equality.

Although we celebrate, we cannot ignore the harsh realities many in the trans community still face — attacks on affirming and accessible healthcare, lack of protections from discrimination and violence, the ability to have trans existence acknowledged and respected, and the fight for fundamental rights. Our work is far from finished, and there is much to do to create a world where all trans and non-binary individuals can live authentically and without fear.

Today, we renew our dedication to advocating for the safety, dignity, and equality of trans and non-binary Pennsylvanians. Together, we will continue the work to make Pennsylvania a place where every individual can live as their true selves, fully seen and valued.
